Coleman is one of the longest standing and most reputable brands in the outdoor industry today. I remember when I was a young boy scout, my parents gave me a Coleman dome tent for my birthday. I have fond memories of sleeping in that tent all over Utah, including in my Grandma’s front room, many times in our backyard, and countless times on boy scout camps. You could say Coleman has been a part of our family for quite some time now!

This week, Sadie and I got to work with Coleman in trying out some of their newer products, and we are so excited to share our experience with you!

This is one of the coolest camping items I have seen yet! This is an electric lamp with a 360° speaker setup at the base. I come from a background of being super picky about my electronics, especially speakers, and I have got to say that I am very impressed. This speaker has bluetooth technology, and it is extremely easy to set-up. The speaker surrounds the base of the lantern, so it has a nice “surround sound” wherever you put it, and it lasts up to 5 hours with the light and speaker on! The sound quality is impressive for such a small setup, and we even found ourselves using it at home a few times. As we camped, we brought this thing everywhere with us, even when we weren’t using the lamp function. Even though it rained on us pretty hard at one point, the speaker just kept going and did great in the rain. It’s so fun that it’s so portable!

We were excited to see this cooler come in the mail! This vintage looking cooler did a great job at keeping our drinks cool, and it was exactly the size that we wanted/needed. I personally appreciate the design of the handles that fold in when they are not being used. That may sound silly, but handles that go flush against the side of the cooler are so much easier to pack into a car. The cooler does not have rolling wheels on it, but it’s still fairly easy to lift and move around. Plus having wheels on it would ruin it’s vintage aesthetic!

We tested out a nice full size blue fold out chair. This chair is perfect for fishing, because it comes with it’s only personal little cooler on the left side armrest. The cooler can comfortably fit two drinks and a nice few handfuls of ice, so your drinks stay cold and you can keep lounging in your chair without continually getting up! The chair comes with a bag and is a great addition to our camping collection.

I was especially excited for this Sundome tent because it really reminded me of my childhood. The tent is a great size, and you can stand in it comfortably without hitting your head (I’m about 5 feet 10 inches tall). The tent has what’s called “Darkroom Technology” and it truly stays dark! When the rain fly was on, the tent was near black inside with the windows closed, even when the sun was still out in the early evening. The technology also really does keep the temperature down inside the tent, which is so nice for summer camping! We liked how the set-up was pretty easy and straightforward, and it only took about 10 minutes total to get it up!

Overall we were really impressed with these products we were able to try out. Probably the most impressive part is you can buy all of them without breaking the bank. Camping gear can be so expensive these days, but Coleman really tries to create quality products that everyone can use!
